Ida Brabrand has expertise in areas including freedom of speech, media law and employment law. Ida is not only a lawyer but also has an education as a journalist from journalism colleges in Oslo and Volda. She has work experience as a news reporter for NRK Østlandssending and TV Norge. Her unique combination of academic education and practical work experience as both a journalist and lawyer has made Ida skilled at advising companies and businesses in the media industry.
Ida also works on issues related to employment law, and she assists employers in serious whistleblowing cases, such as harassment cases. She assists in personnel cases with conflict management, severance agreements and downsizing processes. With her experience and expertise in employment law, Ida is particularly well-equipped to handle cases related to media law, which also raises issues regarding employment.
Ida also has long experience with family law and inheritance, and she assists in financial settlements after separation/divorce, custody agreements and inheritance cases. She also assists in conflict prevention and inheritance planning. This work includes the preparation of wills, future power of attorney, mediation, civil partnership agreements and marital agreements. Ida regularly litigates cases before the courts of law.
