Brækhus Gathered Top Legal Professionals to Increase Women’s Representation in Partnerships

At Brækhus, we have ambitious goals and aim to contribute to creating a more modern and sustainable legal industry. For the industry to move in the right direction and have more women in partnerships, we believe that the industry must collaborate to implement necessary changes.

Last Tuesday, we gathered representatives from the largest law firms in Norway for a full-day meeting to discuss what structural changes at the system level are needed to increase the proportion of women in partnerships.

The plan for the day was to think completely anew and concretize measures that outline a more modern and sustainable partnership model, which combines increased gender balance with commercial interests and clients’ demands and expectations for delivery.

Benedicte Krogh Grimstad (Brækhus), Rebekka Egeland (Brækhus), Maria-Pia Hope, Martine Austad Langberg (The Solstrand Program).

Executive Vice President at DNB, Kjerstin Braathen, shared experiences from their work with diversity and provided insights into major purchasers’ wishes from the legal industry. Former Managing Partner at Vinge, Maria-Pia Hope, gave concrete advice on succeeding with this work. Program Director for AFF’s leadership development program “The Solstrand Program,” Martine Austad Langberg, facilitated the day.

– Brækhus believes that openness and collaboration are key to positive development in the industry! All concrete measures that emerged as a result of the working sessions during the gathering will be made publicly available. Full transparency, says Rebekka Egeland, initiator and Chief People & Culture Officer at Brækhus.
