Family law has become a more complex legal area resulting from new types of family structure and larger fortunes in Norway and abroad.  There is an increasing need for individually customized solutions.  This means that more and more married couples, or cohabitants, choose to participate in agreements that deviate from legal precedent.  If a separation occurs, this can raise difficult questions about the division of assets and relationships to the children.
